The Chairs

My concept for The Chairs was "life within the fantasy of addiction". To better understand and visualize this absurdist tragic farce, I approached it through a lens of realism. My background in realistic storytelling gave me a foundation from which I could push into a heightened and fantastical world. The result explores how addiction distorts reality while remaining deeply rooted in human experience.

Old Woman

For the Old Woman, I drew inspiration from the energy and excess associated with stimulant drugs. I leaned into glitter, bold color, and layered textures to create a look that feels theatrical, overwhelming, and larger than life.

Old Man

The Old Man became an exploration of distraction, obsession, and decline. I imagined his clothing as a reflection of a long-term alcoholic, shaped by routine and neglect. Worn sweaters, faded layers, and the feeling of living in pajamas helped create a character consumed by his message while disconnected from the world around him.
