Still Life with Iris
My concept for this production stemmed from the contrast between the remembered and the forgotten. I was interested in what it means to exist in a world where memory is lost. Without memory, what defines identity? I explored this question through color, creating distinct visual worlds that reflected memory, its absence, and its distortion. I imagined Nocturno as a warm English countryside home, while the world of the Goods was highly saturated and overstimulating, emphasizing the stark contrast between the two realities
Antigone
Antigone is grounded in imagery of earth, layers, history, and buried truth. These layers mirror the play’s conflict between personal conviction and governmental power. I was inspired by the idea that the ground holds memory, making it the perfect metaphor for a world built on repeated political patterns. Setting the production in a 1970s-inspired aesthetic allowed me to connect the story to a decade defined by protest and distrust of authority. By combining earthy textures with bold colors and silhouettes, I aimed to create a world that felt both historical and deeply relevant.
The Chairs
My concept for The Chairs was "life within the fantasy of addiction". To better understand and visualize this absurdist tragic farce, I approached it through a lens of realism. My background in realistic storytelling gave me a foundation from which I could push into a heightened and fantastical world. The result explores how addiction distorts reality while remaining deeply rooted in human experience.
